A suggested self-drive itinerary that will take you through the Western and Eastern Cape Coastal Route ending off with a Big Five Safari in the Malaria free Amakhala Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape.

Day 1- 3: Cape Town
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, collect your hire car make your way to Bantry Bay to Ambassador Hotel and Apartments for three nights in a two bedroomed apartment. Spend the next three days at leisure to discover the beautiful city of Cape Town.
Day 4: Oudtshoorn
Depart for Oudtshoorn on the famous Garden Route with an overnight stay at Hlangana Lodge in Oudtshoorn.
Explore the stunning Cango Caves and visit one of the many ostrich farms to discover the many fascinating aspects of this bird.
Overnight Hlangana Lodge including breakfast.
Day 5-6: Knysna
Celebrated for its fresh oysters and fine hardwood furniture, Knysna is a popular resort set on the banks of the Knysna Lagoon. Highly recommended is a boat trip on the Lagoon to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, visit of the Knysna Quays and walks in the lush Knysna Forest. Also discover nearby Plettenberg Bay and enjoy a boat trip to see dolphins and whales in season.

Day 7-8: Eastern Cape
Depart to Amakhala Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape to enjoy your three day safari experience at Amakhala Game Reserve.
Overnight at Amakhala Leeuwenbosch Lodge - full board including game activities
Day 9: Port Elizabeth
Today you will depart back to Port Elizabeth for your outbound flight.
